With the Government promoting major events for international visitors and locals and others economic factors such as changes in business operating models and the adoption of e-business operations, the Consumer Council has recorded a consecutive increase of consumer complaint cases. For Consumer Council to address these challenges, a comprehensive overview of the complaint data is called for. This project, providing data intelligence and analytics, is essential to assist in early detection of potential trade malpractices, advocating consumer protection, and assisting evidence-based legislative amendments and policy formulation by providing concrete data to regulatory recommendations.  The project objectives are to establish knowledge graph to manage complex data and develop data retrieval engine, develop advanced analytical models to leverage complex data, provide contextual keywords searches and generate preliminary in-depth insights such as trend identification and emerging issues), and develop interactive system to address ad-hoc inquiries with analysis.
