Computer Vision-enabled Digital Twin for Construction Resource and Progress Management This system utilises web cameras for outdoor monitoring and panoramic imaging for indoor construction activity analysis based on deep neural networks. By creating a real-time digital representation of physical objects and scenarios, schedule delays and productivity loss can be calculated, along with the reasons and recommendations inferred. The technology aims to reduce progress lagging, rework, and resource loss, leading to improved resource management performance which helps to enhance the competitiveness of the Hong Kong construction industry. This solution has won a Silver Medal in the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva. |
