The logistics industry faces significant challenges, including labor shortages, a lack of certified forklift drivers, and poor working conditions with extreme temperatures. To address these issues, we propose the implementation of remote-controlled forklifts using Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology. This solution allows operators to control forklifts from comfortable environments, minimizing exposure to harsh conditions and improving job satisfaction. While 5G technology offers low latency, its signal can be weak in warehouse settings. SDR will prioritize the 2.4GHz frequency and switch to 920MHz if necessary, ensuring reliable teleoperation. Additionally, we will implement GPU-based compression for realtime
audio, video, and haptic feedback, enhancing the overall user experience with highfidelity 4K video and immersive 360-degree audio.
By adopting this remote-controlled forklift system, the logistics sector can effectively tackle labor shortages and improve working conditions, ultimately boosting productivity and safety.
