The 25th Macau International Trade and Investment Fair
“The 25th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair” is organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), and co-organised by 15 economic and commercial authorities and trade associations from Macao, Hong Kong and Mainland China, will be held from 22 to 24 October, 2020.” MIF is the first Macao local exhibition awarded by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), and is one of the most reputable annual international economic and trade events in Macao. Under the theme of “Cooperation-Key to Business Opportunities”, MIF leverages on Macao’s advantages as “World Centre of Tourism and Leisure” and “Commercial and Trade Cooperation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, which helps MIF’s participants to facilitate business start-up, development and transformation.
Our CEO, Mr Simon Wong, was invited to be the speaker of the forum themed as "Smart Cities among Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in relating to Logistics Innovation Technology and Big Data in Safety Transport in Practices". Mr Wong shared his view on the topic related to “How COVID-19 affect the present and future logistics and supply chain development” and prompted joint effort in the regions for the industry.

CILTHK LIVE Series 2020-21: Smart Cities, Smart Mobility - [Session I]
CILTHK LIVE Seminar Series 2020-21 aims to promote the excellence in the transport and logistics practice in Hong Kong and taking this opportunity joining other professionals to build up an online knowledge exchange platform to share best practice across the world.
The theme of this series is ‘Smart Cities, Smart Mobility’ and is the first of its kind. In this series, FOUR sessions will be held in quarterly basis from September 2020 – June 2021. Practitioners and academics in the transport and logistics industry will be invited to share their knowledge, experience and insights on how smart mobility drives the city future and its latest development.
The first session will be held with LSCM on 8 Sep 2020. The webinar topic is "How do we make Hong Kong a Smarter City?". Hong Kong is working to build a smarter city for the comfort of her residents and visitors. Six pillar approach including smart mobility, smart living, smart environment, smart people, smart government, and smart economy has been adopted. Technologies are the indispensable foundation for developing and implementing a smarter city. This seminar will discuss some selected technologies for smart city developed by Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre. These example technologies span from sensing devices to video cams and from AI to systems. Realistic cases will be outlined to demonstrate the applicability of these technologies.

Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr. Alfred Sit, Visit LSCM Command Center
On 7 September, the Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Alfred Sit, and the Permanent Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Ms Annie Choi, visited LSCM command centre of the Universal Community Testing Programme to learn about how LSCM had applied logistics and related technologies to oversee the security management and logistical arrangements for specimens.
LSCM CEO Simon Wong and the team introduced the technologies applied in streamlining the logistical arrangements.

LSCM joined the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department’s annual flagship event - E&M I&T Day 2020 virtually on 31 Aug to 2 Sep. With the showcased robotic technologies, including Follow-me Robot, Smart Service Robot and Deliverbot in the virtual exhibition, we engaged with the trade practitioners with our latest research deliverables.

全港VR復康訓練遊戲設計比賽2020
東華三院復康服務一向秉承「共融社區齊參與‧優質生活我自主」的服務理念,致力推動傷健共融,提升殘疾人士的自主性和生活質素。因此,東華三院聯同物流及供應鏈多元技術研發中心(LSCM)合辦「全港VR復康遊戲設計比賽」,旨在增強學生及公眾人士認識及關注殘疾人士及長者的需要,鼓勵他們善用自身的知識及創意,創作適合殘疾人士使用的VR復康訓練遊戲,推廣傷健共融。
比賽內容主要集中在兩大主題上:(1)復康訓練 (例如認知訓練、肢體肌能訓練、情緒舒緩、社區技能訓練等)(2)傷健共融
參加者將藉著這個機會充分發揮創意,設計出具復康訓練及趣味性的VR (Virtual Reality 虛擬實境)遊戲或意念。
目的:- 促進大眾對殘疾人士、長者的關注及有關軟件的發展。- 透過虛擬實境復康遊戲提升及改善殘疾人士及長者的生活質素。- 推廣傷健共融。

Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr. Alfred Sit, Visit LSCM
On 7th May, the newly appointed Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr. SIT Wing Hang, Alfred, JP, visited LSCM to discuss the latest challenges of technology research with our teams and learn about our recently developed technologies. During the visit, we have introduced and demonstrated our technologies which could help to facilitate industry development, and those related to e-Commerce, such as our Heavy Duty Autonomous Guided Vehicles, Smart Service Robot, eBRAM platform, as well as the electronic wristband of the StayHomeSafe System which is being deployed to assist the HKSAR Government with its quarantine measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Hong Kong. LSCM will continue to work closely with different departments and industry partners to promote the development and adoption of innovative technology in Hong Kong.
