LSCM signed an MOU with MOL to foster closer collaboration in the development of e-Smart Port Platform

LSCM signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. (MOL), along with its logistics group companies to initiate their partnership in the development of the e-Smart Port Platform. The project aims to study and enhance the operational efficiency of the logistics industry in Hong Kong. In this partnership, the group companies of MOL will provide information on actual logistics conditions and other data in Hong Kong to LSCM for the research of the platform. LSCM has been exploring more opportunities in collaborating with overseas organisations in the research and development of innovative technology.

LSCM signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Guangdong Electronic Port Management Co. Ltd., Guangzhou Institute of Software and CS Intelligence (Guangdong) Information Technology Co. Ltd. to strengthen the collaboration among the four organisations in the research of Smart Port, customs clearance, trade single window, cross-border data integration and connectivity, etc. This collaboration will further foster the technology development in Hong Kong and the Mainland, facilitating more economic activities in the region.

LSCM received a group of members from Hong Kong Logistics Association on 18 May 2023, who were interested in the innovative technologies that are suitable for warehouse operation.

The LSCM team introduced the Centre’s latest robotics technologies to the guests, including the newly developed Electronic Power Assist Trolley System, Heavy Duty Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGV), Tele-control Warehouse Stacker Using 5G, and more.

The guests experienced the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System and explored the possibility of adopting it in their warehouses to enhance efficiency. The Heavy Duty Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGV) was another technology demonstrated at the visit, showing how they could be used to move the storage racks in warehouses.
