On 8 August 2023, Mr Leung Chun-Ying, Vice Chairperson of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Mr Raymond Yip, Chief Liaison Officer, Guangzhou Nansha Service Centre in Hong Kong, and a group of guests visited LSCM to explore the latest R&D projects and initiatives of LSCM.

During the visit, Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, introduced various award-winning technologies to the guests, such as the Automated Concrete Cube Testing System, Electronic Power Assist Trolley System and RFID Device (Two-piece device for Tolling Application), as well as a series of Smart City technology, Gerontechnology, and robotics technology. The guests offered some valuable insights on technology development and application to the LSCM team.

The 8th Golden Age Expo & Summit, organised by the Golden Age Foundation, was held on 11 – 13 August 2023 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

At the event, Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, introduced the Gerontechnology developed by LSCM and also shared his insights into the development of Gerontechnology in Hong Kong in a panel discussion alongside other industry experts and leaders. Besides, LSCM showcased two technologies developed for smart ageing, namely the Elderly Service Robot and ChatGPT Robot for the Elderly, at the exhibition.

LSCM took part in the first edition of InnoEX 2023 organised by the Government of the HKSAR and Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) to showcase the Centre’s latest technologies. The event showcased next-generation smart solutions, cutting-edge technologies and disruptive innovations with sharing by influential tech experts and leaders in the region.

At the event, LSCM demonstrated a series of award-winning technologies developed by the Centre, including Automated Concrete Cube Testing System, RFID Device (Two-piece Device for Tolling Application) and AIoT Herbal Picking and Delivery System for Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. The e-Smart Port Platform and Hong Kong Digital Credentials Hub were also showcased. Many local visitors, as well as others from the Mainland and overseas visited the LSCM booth to learn about the technologies.

The Global Smart Cities Summit cum The 3rd International Conference on Urban Informatics (GSCS & ICUI 2023), organised by the International Society for Urban Informatics (ISUI) and the Smart Cities Research Institute, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), was held on 20 - 23 August 2023. At the event, LSCM showcased the Hong Kong GNSS Signal Quality Monitoring and Interference Detection System developed in collaboration with PolyU. The visitors were most interested in the application of this technology.

The Hong Kong RISC-V Day 2023 organised by City University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation, took place on 22 August 2023 at Tsueng Kwan O Innopark. Leveraging on this opportunity, LSCM showcased the Video Analytics for Traffic Flow Monitoring and Road Traffic Safety Management. The LSCM team exchanged their insights on technology development with different industry experts and academia representatives at the event.
