Regional Conference on Smart Customs

LSCM participated in the Regional Conference on Smart Customs from 11 to 13 March 2026 to showcase the Centre’s advanced technologies that support smart customs, trade facilitation, and cross-boundary logistics.

At the event, distinguished guests including Mr Tang Ping-keung, Secretary for Security, and Mr Chan Tsz-tat, Commissioner of Customs and Excise, visited the LSCM booth to learn about the Port Community System (PCS) and E-lock developed by the Centre which could help enhance customs efficiency, security, and facilitate seamless cross-border operations.

Mr Stephen WAI, Senior Business Development Director of LSCM, delivered a presentation that highlighted the functions and benefits of the PCS at the event, providing the audience with more in-depth information on how the PCS could help to provide a more efficient and secure environment for global trade.

The visitors engaged in discussions about the advantages of utilising innovations in cross-boundary logistics and smart customs.

InnoEx 2026

LSCM participated in the fourth edition of InnoEX, co-organised by the Government of the HKSAR and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), on 13 – 16 April 2026 to showcase a series of the Centre’s award-winning technologies including the Port Community System (PCS), Electronic Power Assist Trolley System Series, Air-Conditioning Water Dripping Inspection System, as well as Smart Lock Application and Devices for Confidential Document Tracking in the GBA. These showcased technologies align with Hong Kong’s smart city development initiatives to boost industry productivity and efficiency.

We were honoured to welcome several distinguished guests to our booth, including Prof Dong SUN, JP, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry; Mr HAN Bing, Chairman of the Hefei Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); and Mr Ivan LEE, JP, Commissioner for Innovation & Technology. The LSCM team highlighted the showcased technologies and the Centre’s latest R&D initiatives. Furthermore, Dr Venus LUN, Special Project Director of LSCM, delivered a compelling presentation on the “Port Community System (PCS)”. She introduced how the system seamlessly connects supply chain stakeholders to enhance Hong Kong’s logistics efficiency and cross-sector collaboration.

The four-day event provided exceptional opportunities for the LSCM team to engage with industry players and tech experts from both local and overseas markets, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas to drive future innovation.

Mr HAN Bing, Chairman of the Hefei Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) learned about LSCM’s latest Smart City technologies and R&D initiatives during his visit to the booth. LSCM team introduced the key features and functions of the Air-Conditioning Water Dripping Inspection System to Mr Ivan LEE, Commissioner for Innovation and Technology.
Many visitors showed keen interest in the operation of the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System. Dr Venus LUN, Special Project Director of LSCM, introduced the Port Community System and its role in strengthening industry competitiveness.

BIP Link 2026 – Jiangsu-HK Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Roundtable and Hefei-HK Inno Tech Roundtable

The BIP Link 2026 – Jiangsu-HK Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Roundtable and Hefei‑HK Inno Tech Roundtable, co-organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the respective provincial authorities from the Chinese Mainland, took place on 13 and 14 April 2026.

At the event, Dr Venus LUN, Special Project Director, LSCM, shared the Port Community System (PCS) which is developed by LSCM in collaboration with the Transport and Logistics Bureau, to enable the cross-enterprise and inter-modal data sharing on cargo status.

By leveraging blockchain and advanced technologies for secured data transmission, PCS delivers end-to-end visibility of supply chains and port logistics, streamlines customs declaration, strengthens the industry's international competitiveness, and opens up possibilities for trade finance facilitation.

These roundtable sessions bridged Hong Kong’s universities, R&D centres and start-ups with tech enterprises from the Chinese Mainland to foster collaboration and partnership opportunities.
