The world-renowned International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva is an annual global event honouring the advancement in technology and innovation. This year, the event took place on 11 - 15 March 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland. LSCM’s effort and expertise in technology R&D was again well recognised at this international event.
At the event, LSCM won a gold medal, 3 silver medals, and a bronze medal with the Centre’s satellite, locationing and robotics technologies. The “AI Large Language Model – Powered Remote Sensing Satellite System for Near-Real-Time Disaster Monitoring” developed in collaboration with The Chinese University of Hong Kong was awarded a gold medal. It deploys large AI models directly in space and its “shoot-and-compute” capability facilitates timely geospatial intelligence for near-real-time disaster response. Two of the silver medals were awarded to LSCM’s robotics technologies, namely the "Multi-Robot Collaborated Object Transportation System" which allows multiple autonomous robots to collaboratively transport heavy objects in space-constrained environments such as construction sites, and the "Voice-Controlled Mobile Manipulator Powered by Large Language Model” which interprets human’s voice commands to perform complex tasks such as navigation, as well as item grasping and delivery. The other project which was awarded a silver medal was the "Smart Lock Application and Devices for Confidential Document Tracking in the Greater Bay Area". With the smart lock, tracking system and mobile app, it ensures safe and traceable cross-boundary delivery of confidential documents. And the "Personalised Chatbot for Elderly Companions" was awarded a bronze medal. Its family photo-based training creates natural and meaningful conversations between the chatbot and the elderly users, providing companionship to the elderly users and helping to strengthen connections between the users and their families.
The LSCM team is thrilled to have received the recognition in the exhibition again this year and will continue our efforts in fostering collaboration among the government, industry, academia, and research institutes to develop more innovative technologies and promote technology adoption. |
