LSCM Logistics Summit 2025

Gathering more than 1,000 guests from the government, industry and academia, the annual LSCM Logistics Summit took place on 10 October 2025 under the theme “Port Community System: Steering Innovation and Collaboration in Logistics”. The Summit served as a dynamic platform for exchanging ideas and sharing industry updates, with distinguished speakers offering insights on how the smart port development could help to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness in the logistics sector.

As the preparation work and development of the Port Community System (PCS) are in full swing, support from the industry is crucial to the enhancement and implementation of the system. Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed among LSCM, government departments, and renowned organisations at the Summit to strengthen the support and collaboration for a better PCS. The first MoU was signed among LSCM, Transport and Logistics Bureau and Chu Kong Shipping for the collaboration of the three organisations in the application of the PCS to facilitate the tracking of cargoes and the exchange of data. The second MoU signed between LSCM and GS1 Hong Kong signifies the two organisations’ collaboration in exploring application innovation of the One-Data-Multiple-Declarations service on the PCS and product info data service. This will facilitate higher accuracy and efficiency of trade declaration for the port community. The third MoU signed between LSCM and OnePort was about the two organisations’ collaboration in the application innovation for a barge manifest service on the PCS which will facilitate barging in customs declaration to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the logistics industry. And the MoU signed between LSCM and Sengital Limited aimed at fostering continuous R&D, marketing and technology transfer to facilitate the use of AI agent technologies in providing value-added services for the PCS.

To promote technology adoption and foster collaboration, the Summit featured a technology exhibition showcasing LSCM’s latest Smart City and logistics technologies. The showcases this year included the PCS, Po Shan Groundwater Regulation System, the project “Protecting the Ecological Environment in Construction Areas with an AIoT System”, Cross-boundary Public Services (CBPS) Kiosk, Automated Hill Fire Surveillance System, Multi-Robot Collaborated Object Transportation System and Detachable Follow-me Robot. LSCM’s partner organisations also presented their in-house technologies and those developed in collaboration with LSCM at the exhibition.

The LSCM Logistics Summit 2025 brought together experts from diverse backgrounds to explore how innovation and technology is shaping the future of logistics in Hong Kong and beyond.

In her Opening Remarks, Ms Mable CHAN, Secretary for Transport and Logistics, The Government of the HKSAR, emphasised the importance of the PCS in enhancing the industry efficiency and productivity. Mr CHAN Tsz Tat, Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Customs and Excise Department, The Government of the HKSAR, gave a presentation on “Harnessing Innovation and Collaboration – Role of Hong Kong Customs to Strengthen Hong Kong’s Global Trade Leadership” at the Summit.

The LSCM Logistics Summit 2025 facilitated technology adoption by the industry and the exchange of views and ideas. More than 1,000 guests from the government, industry and academia gathered to explore the latest technologies at the Summit.

At the Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC) hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), LSCM organised the Port Community System x LSCM Maritime Summit 2025” and “Hong Kong Belt and Road Low-Altitude Economy Cooperation Conference 2025” on 18 November 2025, gathering the government officials and industry leaders to explore the Port Community System (PCS) and innovative technologies that are fostering the development of the logistics and maritime industry. The event also examined the emerging low-altitude economy (LAE) in Hong Kong and in the Belt and Road countries, assisting the industry to seize the new opportunities for development.

At the first session of the event — “Port Community System x LSCM Maritime Summit 2025”, LSCM signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the Transport and Logistics Bureau and China Resources Logistics, Hong Kong Sino Innovation Technology Co., Ltd, as well as Crown Logistics respectively for the collaboration on the development of smart port. Following the MoU signing ceremonies were the sharing by government officials and industry experts on the importance of the Port Community System in enhancing the industry efficiency and productivity.

The second session of the event — “Hong Kong Belt and Road Low-Altitude Economy Cooperation Conference 2025” was co-organised by LSCM and the Silk Road Cities Alliance. Experts of LAE, together with the representatives from the relevant enterprises of the Chinese Mainland, as well as the industry leaders in the LAE sector in Hong Kong attended the session for the exchange of ideas and discussion of the latest development of LAE. Distinguished guests from the Government, the Chinese Mainland and overseas also officiated the launch of the Silk Road LAE Cooperation Centre, Hong Kong, at the event and explored the strategies for fostering the LAE development in Hong Kong and in the Belt and Road countries.

In addition to the presentations by the industry experts at the event, LSCM showcased a range of innovative technologies at the ALMAC exhibition, which included the Port Community System (PCS) developed in collaboration with the Transport and Logistics Bureau, The Electronic Power Assist Trolley System Series developed by LSCM and some technologies related to LAE from the Chinese Mainland. The industry practitioners showed great interest in the technology showcases and explored how they could be utilised to enhance operational efficiency and productivity, as well as driving the development of smart port and LAE.

In her Opening Remarks at the Port Community System x LSCM Maritime Summit 2025”, Miss Amy CHAN, Deputy Secretary for Transport and Logistics and Commissioner for Maritime and Port Development, The Government of the HKSAR, encouraged the industry to support the Port Community System (PCS) and adopt innovative technologies to enhance competitiveness. Mr Michael WONG, Deputy Financial Secretary, The Government of the HKSAR, underscored Hong Kong’s unique advantages in facilitating the development of LAE in the Belt and Road countries in his Special Remarks at the “Hong Kong Belt and Road Low-Altitude Economy Cooperation Conference 2025”.
