Visit by Hon YUNG Hoi-yan, JP, Member of the Legislative Council

On 17 March 2025, Hon YUNG Hoi-yan, JP, Member of the Legislative Council, visited LSCM to explore the Centre's recent R&D projects and initiatives.

During the visit, Mr Simon Wong, MH, FCILT, Chief Executive Officer, LSCM, introduced to Ms Yung a series of innovative technologies developed by the Centre. These included the award-winning Port Community System (PCS), Electronic Power Assist Trolley System, and AIoT Herbal Picking and Delivery System for Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, etc. Ms Yung was also interested in learning about the efforts and contribution of the Centre in fostering technology development and the collaboration among the government, industry, academia and research institutes.

Ms Yung exchanged views with LSCM’s R&D team on the future prospects of innovation and technology development in Hong Kong. She also offered practical suggestions towards the Centre’s development and encouraged continuous collaboration with different sectors in driving technological advancement.

Mr Simon Wong, MH, FCILT, Chief Executive Officer,  LSCM, introduced to Ms Eunice Yung the AIoT Herbal Picking and Delivery System designed for the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Hospital which could enhance the efficiency in the TCM hospital. Ms Eunice Yung experienced the Virtual Reality Training System for Strategic Operations which was designed and developed to support industry training through immersive simulation.

The representatives of the Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hongkong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone of Shenzhen visited LSCM on 24 March 2025 to foster the exchange of views and ideas towards technology development.

During the visit, a series of LSCM technologies were introduced and demonstrated to the guests, such as the award-winning Electronic Power Assist Trolley System, Automated Concrete Cube Testing System, Tele-Control Warehouse Stackers Using 5G and Virtual Reality Training System for Strategic Operations, etc.

The guests and the LSCM team had an in-depth discussion on the role of Hong Kong in facilitating the technology companies in the Mainland to go global and the development of Hong Kong’s technology companies in the Mainland.

The guests learned about the Virtual Reality Training System for Strategic Operations during the visit. The guests experienced how the robotics technologies could help enterprises enhance efficiency and productivity.
