BIP Link 2025 - Jiangsu-HK and Hefei-HK Inno Tech Roundtable

The BIP Link 2025 - Inno Tech Roundtables co-organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the respective departments of the mainland provinces took place on 14 April 2025.

At the event, Dr Frank TONG, Director/ Chief Scientist, Research & Technology Development (System), LSCM, gave a presentation about the Port Community System (PCS) developed by LSCM in collaboration with the Transport and Logistics Bureau which would streamline port and logistics information sharing within the port community. By leveraging advanced technologies, PCS enables effective tracking and visualisation of the global supply chain and port logistics, which would enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong’s port and foster the smart port development. These roundtable sessions connected Hong Kong’s universities, R&D centres as well as start-up companies with I&T companies in mainland China to facilitate partnership opportunities among different parties.


InnoEx 2025

LSCM took part in InnoEx 2025 co-organised by the Government of the HKSAR and Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) on 13 – 16 Apr 2025 to showcase the Centre’s latest Smart City technologies. The event this year focused on advancements in A.I. Robotics, Cyber Security, Smart Mobility and the Low Altitude Economy.

To promote innovation and collaboration, LSCM showcased a series of the Centre’s award-winning technologies, including the Port Community System (PCS) and Detachable Follow-me Robot, as well as Robo-9 with Multi-Sensor Technologies for the Visually Impaired and XRCC – Extended Reality Content Creation Suite which had just received a Gold Award and a Silver Award respectively at The Edison Awards™ 2025. These award-winning technologies were developed to cater for the needs of the industries and the community.

Mr ZHUANG Rongwen, the Minister of the Cyberspace Administration of China and Chairman of the WIC and Prof Dong SUN, JP, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, The Government of the HKSAR,  as well as other guests from the Mainland and overseas visited the LSCM booth to learn about the showcased technologies and the Centre’s latest R&D initiatives.

Mr ZHUANG Rongwen, the Minister of the Cyberspace Administration of China and Chairman of the WIC, visited LSCM’s booth to learn about LSCM’s technologies and latest R&D initiatives at the event. Robo-9 with Multi-Sensor Technologies for the Visually Impaired, an award-winning technology at The Edison Awards™ 2025, attracted lots of enquiries about its special functions and features.
Port Community System (PCS) was demonstrated to the representatives of the HK Customs and Excise Department regarding its core functions designed for the logistics and maritime industry. Many visitors were interested in how to create dynamic and interactive Extended Reality (XR) for training and experiential learning.

Being one of the key players in the smart city development in Hong Kong, Mr Simon WONG, MH, FCILT, Chief Executive Officer, LSCM, shared his insightful views on the role of digitalisation in enhancing industry productivity, cost-effectiveness and security, etc. at the launch ceremony of HK-SHINE (Smart Hub for Innovation and New Ecosystem) on 19 March 2025. He also emphasised the importance of the platform in fostering the smart city development, re-industrialisation and strengthening the collaboration with the Greater Bay Area. He looked forward to the digitalisation of the industries in Hong Kong with the assistance of the platform.
