2nd Asia Exhibition of Inventions Hong Kong

In the 2nd Asia Exhibition of Inventions Hong Kong, LSCM showcased four of our latest technologies, namely the Smart Traffic Control System, Elderly Lifter, Smart Service Robots and Follow-Me Robot. Positive responses were received from the judges and the visitors.

There was a new “Hong Kong Invention Pavilion” in this year’s event to showcase the strength and uniqueness of inventions from Hong Kong. LSCM exhibited its technologies which received awards in the previous International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, including the e-Lock, Infrared Thermal Sensing Safety Alert System and the RFID Blind Cane Navigation System.

Mr CHAN Mo-po, Paul, GBM, GBS, MH, JP, Financial Secretary , The Government of the HKSAR, and other guests visited various booths on the first day of the exhibition.

The guests were interested in LSCM’s award-winning technologies exhibited in the “Hong Kong Invention Pavilion" at the Exhibition.

Asian Logistics and Maritime Conference 2019

Organised by the Government of the HKSAR and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the annual Asian Logistics and Maritime Conference was held on 19 - 20 November 2019 to connect the representatives of related industries with thematic forums and exhibitions.

LSCM took part in the event by showcasing the Smart Lifter, Follow-Me Robot and Robotic Arm Transfer System, which are suitable for deployment in the logistics industry to enhance efficiency. The visitors were interested in the technology showcases and explored the opportunities for future collaboration.

The Follow-Me Robot was demonstrated to the visitors.

LSCM received a lot of enquiries from the industry about our technologies.

Business of IP (BIP) Asia Forum

Jointly organised by the Government of the HKSAR, HKTDC and Hong Kong Design Centre, the BIP Asia Forum held on 5 - 6 December 2019 brought IP professionals and business leaders from all over the world together to discuss the latest developments in the IP world, and to explore business collaboration opportunities.

LSCM took up a booth and introduced our technology strength for related sectors.

The visitors showed interest in LSCM technologies.

Construction Innovation Expo (CIExpo) 2019

LSCM exhibited its technologies for Construction at the CIExpo held on 17-20 December 2019 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It was a signature event co-organised by the Development Bureau of the Government of the HKSAR, Centre of Science and Technology Industrial Development, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China and the Construction Industry Council. This expo aimed to provide an excellent knowledge sharing and business matching platform for the industry with the vision to drive a new era in construction.

LSCM showcased the Follow-me Robot, Safety Belt Alarm System and RFID-enabled Service-oriented BIM Platform. Over hundreds of visitors were attracted to the LSCM booth and many of them were impressed by the demonstrated technologies. Some guests also indicated strong interest in deploying these technologies for enhancing efficiency in their construction work.

The Industry players showed great interest in the RFID-enabled Service-oriented BIM Platform which is a collaboration project of LSCM and The University of Hong Kong.

Mr Simon Wong, CEO of LSCM, delivered a presentation on “Latest Development of Innovation and Technologies for Smart Cities” at the event.

Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) 2019

LSCM participated in the 3rd Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) held on 21-24 November 2019 which was jointly hosted by the Government of the HKSAR and The Hong Kong Council of Social Service.

At the expo, LSCM showcased the Centre’s latest gerontechnologies and demonstrated how to deploy these technologies in elderly services, such as Smart Service Robots, AI Enabled Elderly Call Caring System, Follow-Me Robot, Elderly Lifter, RFID Asset Management System, Infrared Thermal Sensing Safety Alert System for the Elderly and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Activity Monitoring System for Solitary Elderly. Numerous visitors were attracted to LSCM booth who were impressed by the technology demonstrations.

Mr Simon Wong, CEO of LSCM, introduced our gerontechnologies to Ms Rebecca Pun, JP, Commissioner for Innovation and Technology.

Mr David Chung, Senior Project Manager, Research and Technology Development of LSCM, was one of the speakers of the Workshop - Smart Choice of Gerontech in Social Welfare Settings.

Innovation Forum on Site Safety

LSCM participated in the Innovation Forum on Site Safety which was organised by the Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) on 5 December 2019. This forum aimed to encourage the guests to adopt innovative technologies in their work sites in order to have effective site safety management. Dr CH Cheng, Director, Research and Technology Development of LSCM, and Mr Sam Law, Senior System Analyst of LSCM, were the speakers of the topic “LSCM Technologies for Construction Sites’ Safety and Productivity” in the Forum. Dr Eric Luo, Senior Research Fellow of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, also talked about the cooperation with LSCM on the project “AI Vision for Construction Sites’ Management”.

Dr CH Cheng, Director, Research and Technology Development of LSCM, introduced our project “AI Vision for Asset Monitoring at HKIA” to the guests and explained how AI could be used in construction sites.

Mr Sam Law, Senior System Analyst of LSCM, discussed how IOT technologies could be applied in construction industry.

Official Launching Ceremony of Heavy Duty Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs) for Warehouse Management

LSCM has been striving to facilitate the adoption of our technologies by different industries. Recently, the Heavy Duty Autonomous Guide Vehicles (AGVs) have been adopted by The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) for application in its warehouses.

The Official Launching Ceremony of the Heavy Duty AGVs took place in the warehouse of Towngas on 6 December 2019. At the ceremony, Mr Simon Wong, CEO of LSCM, gave a short introduction of the Heavy Duty AGVs. Members of LSCM’s Research and Technology Development teams, as well as Business and Project Development team, joined the ceremony to share the joy with the representatives of Towngas. The teams were excited as this technology which they had contributed much time and effort in developing is deployed by one of the largest public utilities in Hong Kong to enhance its daily operational efficiency.

Mr Simon Wong, CEO of LSCM, officiated the launch of the Heavy Duty AGVs with Mr Alfred Chan, Managing Director of Towngas.

 

SmartBiz Expo 2019

The Smartbiz Expo gathered the industry players from the business community to discover and discuss the market opportunities and trends in business transformation. This year, LSCM showcased the technologies including Follow- Me Robot, Smart Lifter, Hong Kong - Zhuhai Trade Facilitation Platform (eTFP) and Product Authentication with Blockchain Technology in the ITC Pavilion.

Dr Bernard Chan, JP, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, visited LSCM booth and learned about our eTFP.

Mr Simon Wong, CEO of LSCM, shared his views on “Utilising VR/AR for Untapped Opportunities” in the seminar.
