On 21 May 2026, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) organised the seminar on “Sea–Air and Road–Air Corridors Re-wiring GBA Logistics Flows via Hong Kong”. Ir Dr Venus Lun, Special Project Director, LSCM, joined the seminar as a speaker and introduced the Port Community System (PCS) developed by LSCM in her presentation. She also explored the advantages and digitalisation of Hong Kong’s logistics sector with other industry experts in the subsequent panel discussion.

LSCM has been actively collaborating with the industries in technology R&D throughout the years. On 21 May 2026, LSCM signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sangfor Technologies (Hong Kong) Limited for the collaboration on technology research and application.

Leveraging LSCM’s research capabilities and Sangfor Technologies’s expertise on cybersecurity, cloud computing and IT infrastructure, the two organisations will collaborate closely in technology research to enhance cybersecurity and foster digital transformation in the industry.

Cyberport AI Frontier 2026 took place on 22 May 2026 to discuss real-world AI strategies and explore the shift from autonomous capabilities to new methods for developing and deploying AI.

At the event, Ms Lisa SUN, Assistant Director, Business Development, LSCM, shared her insights into the security and safety of AI applications at the panel discussion on “AI in Practice: Embedding Security and Safety by Design”.

The OSH Innovation & Technology Expo (OSH INNO Expo) was jointly organised by the Occupational Safety & Health Council (OSHC) and the Labour Department on 2-3 June 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, providing a platform to showcase innovative solutions, products and technologies available to further enhance occupational safety and health.

At the Expo, Mr Stephen Wai, Senior Director of Business Development, LSCM, gave a presentation on the Centre's latest technologies and their application in improving workplace safety. The Detachable Follow-me Robot, Multi-Robot Collaborated Object Transportation System and Safety Belt Alarm System were showcased at the event, introducing visitors to how these technologies could support safer and more efficient material transportation tasks and help reinforce safety practices in workplaces.

The E&M I&T Day 2026 with the theme “AI+ Construction”, hosted by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), was held on 9 June 2026 to explore the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the construction sector for enhancing productivity, construction management, and safety.

At the event, LSCM presented the project “Inertial Data & Video Reality Enabled Autonomous Navigation for Coordinated Quadruped Robot & Drone.” By integrating robotic dog and drone, the system can provide behaviour-based navigational tasks such as wall following and obstacle avoidance to replace repetitive manual tasks. It also offers the ability to patrol and monitor multiple floors of a building in an autonomous manner, as well as detecting potentially hazardous situations, such as the presence of an open fire door, malfunctioning lights, or the presence of leaking water. The visitors were interested in the deployment of this technology to enhance the efficiency at work.

The Sangfor International Executive Forum 2026 was held on 24 June 2026 to explore the future development of artificial intelligence (AI). Mr Stephen WAI, Senior Director of Business Development, LSCM, joined the Forum as a panel speaker for the discussion entitled “Leading the Future: AI-Driven Transformation, Architectural Reshaping, and Security Boundaries” to examine the challenges and opportunities that the development of AI will bring about with other industry experts.

Organised by the Golden Age Foundation, the 11th Golden Age Expo & Summit was held from 30 July to 1 August to highlight the latest smart ageing technologies, innovative products and services.

At the event, LSCM showcased the MaxBot SmartTable, an enhanced version of the MaxBot, together with the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System. Through the demonstrations, the visitors explored how these technologies could enhance the efficiency of the daily operations at the elderly services centres and assist the elderly in transporting items at home.
