E&M I&T Day 2020

LSCM joined the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department’s annual flagship event - E&M I&T Day 2020 virtually on 31 Aug to 2 Sep. With the showcased robotic technologies, including Follow-me Robot, Smart Service Robot and Deliverbot in the virtual exhibition, we engaged with the trade practitioners with our latest research deliverables.

Mr Max Chow, Assistant Director, Research and Technology Development of LSCM, was one of the speakers and delivered a presentation on “Future Warehouse in Hong Kong”.

 

CILTHK LIVE Seminar Series 2020-21

The first session of the CILTHK LIVE Seminar Series 2020-21 was held on 8 September 2020 with the theme of “Smart Cities, Smart Mobility”. Dr C.H. Cheng, Director of Research and Technology Development of LSCM, shared his view on the topic of “How do we make Hong Kong a Smarter City?” and highlighted some smart city technologies developed by the Centre which spanned from sensing devices to video cams and from AI to systems. Actual cases were also cited to demonstrate the applicability of these technologies.

Dr CH Cheng, Director of LSCM, was talking about the technologies we have applied in the project “Smart Barrier System”.

 

The 10th Hong Kong Logistics Forum cum Business Matching Luncheon

Organised by Hong Kong Logistics Association, the 10th Hong Kong Logistics Forum cum Business Matching Luncheon on “5G Technology Development” was held on 29 Sep 2020. In this forum, Mr Simon Wong, CEO of LSCM, was one of the speakers and shared his insights on the “Possibility of 5G Applications in Logistics”.

The 25th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair

Organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), and co-organised by 15 economic and commercial authorities and trade associations from Macao, Hong Kong and Mainland China, the 25th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair was held on 22-24 October 2020. Our CEO, Mr Simon Wong, was invited to be the speaker of the forum themed as "Smart Cities among Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in relating to Logistics Innovation Technology and Big Data in Safety Transport in Practices". Mr Wong shared his view on the topic related to “How COVID-19 affect the present and future logistics and supply chain development” and prompted joint effort in the regions for the industry’s sustainable development.

Our CEO, Mr Simon Wong also joined the panel discussion with other speakers.

 

HKPC Sourcing Fair 2020

Organised by Hong Kong Productivity Council, HKPC Sourcing Fair 2020 was held on 10 November 2020 virtually. Dr C.H. Cheng, Director of Research and Technology Development of LSCM, was one of the speakers in the webinar. He shared his view on the topics about “5G & AIOT for Smart City Insights on How 5G and AIOT can Transform Industry” and “AI and Big Data Matters our Daily Lives”. He also cited the projects of “Smart Barrier System” and “Smart Traffic Control System” to illustrate how 5G, AIOT, AI and Big data could be adopted in the development of a smart city.

Dr. CH Cheng, Director of LSCM, was introducing the “Smart Barrier System” and explaining how the technologies could help in developing a smart city.

 

Celebration of BIM Achievement 2020

Organised by The Construction Industry Council (CIC), Celebration of BIM Achievement 2020 was held online on 10 Nov 2020. This celebration aims to recognise outstanding projects, organisations and individuals for their contributions in adopting and promoting Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the construction industry in Hong Kong.

With the project of “RFID-Enabled Building Information Modeling (BIM) Platform for Prefabrication Housing Production in Hong Kong”, LSCM and its collaboration partner, the University of Hong Kong, were excited to receive the award of “Projects 2020” at the event.

Mr David Leung, Assistant Director of Business & Project Development of LSCM and HKU representatives were excited to receive the award.

 

China Hi-Tech Fair

This year, China Hi-Tech Fair was held on 11-15 November 2020 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. LSCM joined this signature event with the Hong Kong Pavilion, which was co-organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The Centre’s latest technologies, Follow-me Robot and Smart Lifter, were introduced to the cross-border participants.

The visitors were interested to know more about LSCM technologies.

 

Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit 2020

LSCM participated in the 4th Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) held on 19-22 November 2020 which was a flagship event jointly hosted by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service to promote technological application and innovation as a promising solution to enhance the quality of life of the elderly and people with disabilities in both the community and institutional setting.

At the expo, LSCM showcased the latest gerontechnologies and demonstrated how to deploy these technologies in elderly services, including Robo-9, Deliverbot, Smart Service Robots, Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Monitoring Technologies, Elderly Lifter, Video Analytics for Elderly Rehabilitation Training as well as AI Enabled Elderly Call Caring System. Numerous visitors were attracted to LSCM booth who were impressed by the technology demonstrations. Favorable responses were received from industry practitioners during the four-day expo.

The visitors showed interest in LSCM gerontechnologies.

Smart HK, Chengdu

Organised by HKTDC, SmartHK, Chengdu was held on 25-26 November in Chengdu and with live broadcast in Hong Kong simultaneously. We are excited that Mr Simon Wong, CEO of LSCM, was invited to share his view on “New Trends in Smart Logistics” with more than 26,000 business leaders and representatives in Chengdu.
