The Launch Ceremony of Port Community System (PCS)

The Government of the Hong Kong SAR has initiated the development of the Port Community System (PCS) with an aim to foster the digital transformation of the port community, enhance cross-sector information interconnectivity, and advance smart port development to enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong’s maritime, port, logistics and trade industries.

LSCM took part in the launch ceremony of the PCS organised by the Transport and Logistics Bureau (TLB). The launch ceremony was officiated by Ms Mable CHAN, Secretary for Transport and Logistics, The Government of the HKSAR, Hon Frankie YICK, Legislative Council Member, Miss Amy CHAN, Commissioner for Maritime and Port Development, Miss Polly CHONG, Principal Assistant Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mr Simon WONG, Chief Executive Officer, LSCM and Dr Frank TONG, Director/Chief Scientist, Research & Technology Development, LSCM.  At the event, Transport and Logistics Bureau, LSCM and Guangdong e-Port Management Company Limited, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signifying the collaboration of the three organisations in the development of the PCS. The three organisations will also explore the use of the PCS to provide a pre-filling and pre-submission function for ocean manifests for vessels entering the Mainland.

The PCS's pilot data-sharing platform began phased testing of specific cargo clearance processes in early 2023, and incorporated feedback from industry stakeholders continuously to enhance the system. After rigorous testing and optimisation, LSCM will assist the TLB in the full development of the system, with installation to be completed by the end of 2025 and implementation for industry use starting in early 2026. The system will provide round-the-clock, real-time cargo tracking, integrate sea, land, and air transport data, and offer value-added electronic services such as the "One-Data-Multiple-Declarations" function. It will enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong’s port and strengthen Hong Kong's status as an international maritime centre.

Transport and Logistics Bureau, LSCM and Guangdong e-Port Management Company Limited, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the collaboration of the three organisations in the development of the PCS. The industry representatives attended the launch ceremony of PCS to show their support for the development and implementation of the system.

HKMA Data Summit 2025

LSCM participated in the HKMA Data Summit 2025 co-organised by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and The Hong Kong Association of Banks on 28 July 2025 to showcase the Port Community System (PCS) developed in collaboration with the Transport and Logistics Bureau.

The real-time, precise cargo tracking and customs information provided by PCS help the banks evaluate trade finance risks more swiftly and accurately. At the event, distinguished guests including Ms Mabel Chan, Secretary for Transport and Logistics, The Government of the HKSAR, Mr Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of HKMA, Mr Fred Lam, Chairman of Airport Authority Hong Kong, Mr Donald  Mak, Deputy Commissioner (Data Governance), Digital Policy Office, The Government of the HKSAR,  representatives from financial institutions and members of the media visited the LSCM booth to learn about how the PCS could enhance supply chain finance collaboration and create new opportunities for cross-border financing.

The PCS fosters the smart port development in Hong Kong, as well as the digitalisation of logistics and trade finance, strengthening Hong Kong’s position as an international hub for shipping, trade, and finance.

Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer, LSCM, introduced the PCS to the representatives from financial institutions. The visitors enquired about how the PCS could foster the digitalisation of trade finance.

The ISSRAC Opening Cereomony

Jointly established by LSCM and China National Software & Service Company Limited, the Information System Security and Reliability Assessment Centre (ISSRAC) has officially opened. Ir Tony WONG, Commissioner for Digital Policy, The Government of the HKSAR, Ms Emily MO,  Assistant Commissioner for Innovation and Technology (R&D Centres), The Government of the HKSAR, Mr ZHANG Hongming, President of China National Software & Service Company Limited (Shenzhen), Mr YU Yi, Representative of International Collaboration Department, China Electronics Corporation (CEC) , Ir Prof Alan LAM, Chairman of the Board of Directors, LSCM and Mr Simon WONG, Chief Executive Officer, LSCM, officiated the Opening Ceremony of the ISSRAC. After the Opening Ceremony, the guests visited the ISSRAC, gaining more insights into the technologies adopted and its operation.

The establishment of ISSRAC aims to bring secure and sustainable Information and Innovation System products to Hong Kong, provide the government departments and public organisations with testing and evaluation of Information and Innovation System products, the testing environment, professional consultation and solutions for cyber security related products. It also provides the industry with better and more reliable innovative technology services to enhance the security and reliability of the information system, which is an important milestone in strengthening Hong Kong's cyber security and ensuring the reliability of the information system.

Japan International Trade Fair for Occupational Safety & Health + Well-being

The Japan International Trade Fair for Occupational Safety & Health + Well-being (JIOSH+W) was held at the OSAKA Expo 2025 from 16 to 19 Jul 2025 in Japan,  showcasing the latest smart technologies for occupational safety and health. Visitors from around the world attended the event and exchanged their insights towards the improvement of safety culture in the workplace.

At the exhibition, LSCM demonstrated the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System and Detachable Follow-me Robot to the visitors. Both technologies could help to effectively enhance the efficiency and safety in transporting heavy and bulky items in the workplace. The visitors expressed their interest in experiencing the trolley system and learning about how the Centre’s innovative technologies could contribute to the enhancement of workplace safety and well-being of the staff.

The visitors experienced the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System and exchanged their ideas and views on the development of smart technologies with the LSCM team. Mr Simon WONG, Chief Executive Officer, LSCM, shared his insights on how innovative technologies could enhance the efficiency and workplace safety of different industries at the event.

E&M I&T Day 2025

The E&M I&T Day 2025 organised by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) took place on 26 June 2025, showcasing green productive forces application in the E&M industry.

At the event, LSCM showcased the project “Protecting the Ecological Environment in Construction Areas with an AloT System”, which has won a Silver Medal in the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva. The system monitors the ecological changes in real time during construction and provides alerts when abnormalities are identified. It helps mitigate the impact on the environment caused by construction activities by enabling timely alerts and swift remedial actions by relevant stakeholders.


The 10th Golden Age Expo & Summit

Organised by the Golden Age Foundation, the 10th Golden Age Expo & Summit took place from 31 July 2025 to 2 August 2025. It offered a platform for showcasing the latest technology, innovative products and services in the elderly services industry.

Echoing this year’s theme “A Decade of Innovation: From Silver to Gold”, LSCM showcased the MaxBot (Multi-Area-eXpandable Robot) and Electronic Power Assist Trolley System which could help the workers in the elderly services industry transport heavy items more efficiently and easily at the event. Through the interactive demonstrations, the visitors learned about how these innovative technologies could benefit the elderly services industry and enhance the quality of life of the seniors.

The visitors enquired about the features of the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System. The visitors were interested in how the MaxBot could help to deliver various items in different working environment.
