LOGTECH Expo 2021

LSCM took part in the LOGTECH Expo 2021 organised by Transport and Housing Bureau and Hong Kong Productivity Council to showcase the Deliverbot on 15 October 2021. The Expo aimed at keeping local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) abreast of the latest technological trends of the logistics sector and providing more information about the government funding available for business upgrading and transformation. Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, was a speaker at the event to share the latest trends of logistics technology.

LSCM’s representative introduced the Deliverbot to the visitors at the Expo.

City I&T Grand Challenge Grand Pitch

The City I&T Grand Challenge Grand Pitch organised by Innovation and Technology Commission was held on 16 October 2021 at Hong Kong Science Park. The innovators of the shortlisted projects in the City I&T Grand Challenge competed for the top prizes at the event while some state-of-the-art technologies were showcased in the exhibition. To let the public learn more about LSCM’s robotics technologies, the Deliverbot was demonstrated in the exhibition with favourable comments received.

The Deliverbot performed the function of delivering heavy items in the exhibition.

The students showed great interest in the Deliverbot.

InnoCarnival 2021

Organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC), the InnoCarnival 2021 was held at the Hong Kong Science Park from 23-31 October 2021 to promote the convenience and comfort brought by innovation and technology to the general public. LSCM also took part in the event to showcase the Robo9 and Deliverbot. Particularly, two interactive technology games including the Voice Control Robotic Arm and Tele-Control Warehouse Stacker Using 5G were designed for the public to enjoy the fun of using technology. The interactive games were very popular and attracted many visitors to LSCM booth.

Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, introduced the Robo9 to Mr Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary, and Mr Alfred Sit Wing-hang, Secretary for Innovation and Technology, at the InnoCarnival.

The Voice Control Robotic Arm was very popular among the students.

Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC) 2021

Jointly organised by the Government of the HKSAR and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the 11th edition of the Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC) took place on 2-3 November 2021. Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive of LSCM, was the moderator of the InnoTalks at the event. And LSCM showcased several latest logistics technologies developed by the Centre, namely Tele-Control Warehouse Stackers Using 5G, Deliverbot and e-Logistics Translation on Cloud. The visitors were interested in understanding how these technologies could help with the logistics efficiency in business operation.

Mr Frank Chan Fan, Secretary for Transport and Housing, visited LSCM booth to learn about the deployment of the Tele-Control Warehouse Stackers Using 5G in warehouses.

Visitors explored how the Deliverbot could be applied in office environment.

Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) 2021

Jointly hosted by the Government of the HKSAR and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, and co-organised with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, the GIES was the largest gerontechnology public education event in Hong Kong which provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss and form collaboration for broader adoption of gernotechnology.

At the Expo, LSCM showcased a number of the Centre’s latest gerontechnology. Visitors were attracted to the LSCM booth to experience and learn about the Smart Service Robot, Robo-9, 3D LiDAR Bed Monitoring System and Tele-practice platform, etc.

Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, introduced the gerontechnology developed by LSCM to Dr Law Chi-kwong, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Dr Sunny Chai Ngai-chiu, Chairman of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, and Mr Chua Hoi Wai, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Council of Social Service, as well as other distinguished guests.

The visitors were interested in the health monitoring functions of the Smart Service Robot.

CityU EE Joint Lab Ceremony

The Department of Electrical Engineering of City University of Hong Kong initiated the CityU EE Joint Lab Scheme to strengthen the collaboration with industrial associations, research centres, corporates, and organisations. LSCM is most excited to be one of the partner organisations of the Scheme. At the CityU EE Joint Lab Ceremony, Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, expressed his views towards the future collaboration with CityU to develop more industry-oriented innovation and technology, connect with the Greater Bay Area in technology development, and facilitate Hong Kong’s development as an international I&T hub.

Ir Dr Lam Hiu Fung, Alan, Chairman of LSCM, and Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, had a discussion about future collaboration with Professor Stella Pang, Head of Department and Chair Professor of Electronic Engineering of City University of Hong Kong.
