CE’s Reception for Awardees of the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2021

To appreciate the remarkable performance of the awardees at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2021, Mrs Carrie Lam, the Chief Executive of the HKSAR Government, hosted a reception on 17 May 2021 at Hong Kong Science Park to provide an opportunity for the awardees to network and showcase their award-winning projects.

In the reception, LSCM showcased four state-of-the-art technologies including the Electronic Wristband and Monitoring System for Hong Kong’s “StayHomeSafe” Home Quarantine Support Solution which was awarded a gold medal, and the Seamless Navigation in Urban Environment, Next InsurChain, as well as the Delivery Robot with End-to-end Navigation Policy which were awarded a silver medal.

Ir Dr Alan Lam, Chairman of LSCM and Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, attended the reception to share the joy of winning the awards with the LSCM teams.

LSCM x CILTHK Webinar Series

LSCM partnered with The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong (CILTHK) to organise the Online Seminar Series 2021-22 to explore the latest advancement of Innovative technologies in Hong Kong.

The two webinars took place on 24 May and 8 Jun 2021 respectively. Dr K L Fan, Director of Research and Technology Development and Chief Researcher of LSCM, introduced LSCM’s robotics technologies for future warehouses, such as AGVs, delivery robots, auto stackers, semi-auto robots, etc., which could help to solve the problems in the daily operation of warehouses. And Dr C H Cheng, Director of Research and Technology Development of LSCM, shared about the implementation of IoT applications in smart logistics, such as traffic signal control, environment monitoring and landslide detection, etc. The webinar series received very positive responses from the participants.

Dr K L Fan, Director of Research and Technology Development and Chief Researcher of LSCM, explained how advanced robotic technologies could help to save costs and enhance the efficiency in warehouses in the webinar.

GO Virtual Business Expo & Conference 2021 (GOVirtual Expo)

LSCM joined the GO Virtual Business Expo & Conference 2021 (GOVirtual Expo) to showcase the Centre’s latest technologies from 10 to 12 June 2021. The Expo is a platform for tech companies to provide innovative technologies to business enterprises for transforming their traditional offline practices to online operations. At the Expo, LSCM’s representatives introduced to the visitors our Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Next InsurChain.

The visitors showed great interest in deploying the Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in their businesses.

Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between LSCM and Hong Kong Police College (HKPC)

On 16 July 2021, LSCM and Hong Kong Police College (HKPC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration between the two organisations. Since the first MoU signed in 2015, LSCM has jointly developed a number of technologies with HKPC, namely the Radio Frequency Identification technology for the Disaster Victim Identification Training Programme, the three-dimensional simulation and virtual reality technology used in the detective training system, and the MESH Wi-Fi used in HKPC’s Aberdeen Campus for Electronic Practical Assessment. The signing of the MoU not only strengthens the collaboration between LSCM and HKPC in the research and development of technology projects, it also signifies the commitment of LSCM in developing innovative technology solutions for the training sectors.

Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, signed the MoU with Ms Cheung Ching, Director of HKPC.
