LSCM Wins 4 Awards at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva
LSCM has won 4 awards at the 46th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva held in Switzerland from 11 to 14 April 2018.
LSCM is excited to receive two Gold Medals and two Silver Medals at this world-renowned event. The two Gold Medals winning projects were “Ultra-wideband Activity Monitoring System for Solitary Elderly” and “Smart Airport Trolley Tracking System”. The “Ultra-Wideband Package Scanner for Inventory Management” and “Smart AP: Wi-Fi Positioning and Optimization for a Smart City” won the Silver Medals.
Both “Ultra-wideband Activity Monitoring System for Solitary Elderly” and “Ultra-Wideband Package Scanner for Inventory Management” are developed by LSCM using Ultra-wideband technology to monitor user’s presence, location and activity levels without any wearable devices for the former application, while to carry out stock-taking without opening the parcels or packages for the latter.
“Smart Airport Trolley Tracking System” and “Smart AP: Wi-Fi Positioning and Optimization for a Smart City” are the collaborations with The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology respectively. The “Smart Airport Trolley Tracking System” uses video analytics, machine learning, real-time notification and mobile computing to track the trolleys for the Hong Kong International Airport. The Smart AP utilizes the Wi-Fi signal generated by mobile phones to locate the devices precisely. By using this innovative fusion-based location sensing technology, the accuracy to position people indoor can be improved. It has been deployed in Harbour City at Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong.
