The 6th (Beijing) RFID International Summit and PRD Exchange Forum on Enabling Technology for Logistics and Supply Chain Industry
4-6 June 2008


The LSCM R&D Centre had participated in the event of the 6th China (Beijing) RFID International Summit on 4-6 June 2008 at China International Exhibition Center - Beijing. The Summit is one of the most influential international RFID conferences in China hosted by the RFID China Alliance. This year, the LSCM R&D Centre again took part in the showcase at the RFID Exhibition Area. Information regarding research and technology transfer activities as well as the latest solutions provided by our industry members were displayed in our booth. 


Apart from participating in the exhibition, the LSCM R&D Centre also co-hosted a "PRD Exchange Forum on Enabling Technology for Logistics and Supply Chain Industry" with RFID China Alliance on 4 June 2008. Our members of industry and technology partners as well as researchers from both mainland China and Hong Kong were invitied to give speeches on different areas. Dr. Terry Ye, Director of Research and Technology Development of the LSCM R&D Centre was one of the speakers who talked about the "R&D roadmap of the LSCM R&D Centre". 


All participants, including researchers, technology companies and user groups were impressed and showed a strong interest to similar events related to information exchange and collaboration opportunity in the future.

It was our great honour to receive a delegation led by Ms. Liang Fengming, Deputy Director of Dongguan City Sci-Tech Bureau on Jun 12.  It was an excellent exchange opportunity for us to establish a strong collaboration. The delegation enjoyed the experience sharing session and was impressed by the demonstration conducted by our research partner, E-Business Technology Institute of HKU.


The LSCM R&D Centre will co-organize an Outreach Briefing with Dongguan Songshan Lake Sci. & Tech. Industry Park Administrative Committee to be held on Jul 2. To further strengthen our partnership, a MOU Signing Ceremony will take place at the event between the LSCM R&D Centre and Guangdong Electronics Industry Institute (GDEII).

2008 Guangdong-Hong Kong RFID Technology Application Summit

Following the success of Guangdong-Hong Kong RFID Technology Application Summit over the past two years, the LSCM R&D Centre and the Guangdong RFID Technology Service Centre (GDRC) are scheduled to co-organize the "2008 Guangdong-Hong Kong RFID Technology Application Summit" on July 23 this year. The Summit aims to  foster Hong Kong and mainland China partnership in promoting RFID adoption and logistics and supply chain enabling technology.


In the event, many important guest speakers from government, industry and technology partners as well as researchers from both mainland China and Hong Kong will be invited to give speeches in the areas of Guangdong-Hong Kong collaborating projects, RFID adoption, research and industrialization.  Besides, there will be other important sessions, such as the dissemination of  the project "RFID Enabling Technologies for Retail & Logistics Industry" and the panel discussion on the R&D roadmap of the LSCM R&D Centre led by the Directors of Research and Technology Development of the LSCM R&D Centre. We are looking forward to the synergy results and experience shared in this important event.


RFID Study Tour 2008 - Taipei
14-16 July 2008 

As one of the supporting organization, the LSCM R&D Centre is pleased to introduce the Taipei RFID Study Tour organized by GS1 Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. The Taipei RFID Study Tour 2008 will be held from July 14 - 16 2008 in conjunction with EPCglobal Asia Adoption Program (AAP) meeting inTaipei.

The objectives of the study tour include:

  • learn about the latest EPC / RFID initiatives and development in Taipei
  • get an update on global EPC / RFID development and in the Asia region
  • explore EPC / RFID related business opportunities in Taiwan
  • establish and further strengthen the relations between Hong Kong enterprises and the concerned RFID organizations in Taiwan
  • network with RFID solution and end user companies in Taiwan
