RFID-enabled Robotic Baggage Handling System

 

LSCM has developed a multi-antenna for E-Business Solutions Limited (EBSL), a Hong Kong based total solution provider, for the RFID-enabled robotic baggage handling system. The newly designed antenna consists of multiple antenna units. Each unit has an independent feeding port. The placement and geometry of all the antenna units have been optimized, so as to deliver a reading zone of a 16-inch diameter. The multi-antenna can be fabricated with the popular printed-circuit-board process and is compatible with LSCM's lightweight RFID reader.

The RFID-enabled robotic baggage handling system not only can reduce the need for heavy lifting by operators in the baggage handling environment, but also can provide precise information about the location of baggage and to reduce the processing time. The integration of the new multi-antenna will enable the adoption of the RFID-enabled robotic baggage handling system, which will increase the productivity of various industries, such as airport and ocean terminals.
