The R&D Program is administered by LSCM R&D Centre and funded by the funding of the HKSAR Government's Innovation and Technology Commission. Through the R&D Funding, we aim to increase the added value, productivity and competitiveness of our economic activities. Hong Kong companies could be encouraged and assisted to upgrade their technological level and introduce innovative ideas to their businesses.

There are two R&D programs:

• Platform Research Program - Applications are opened to universities, industry support organizations, trade and industry associations, professional bodies, and research institutes. This requires cash and/or in-kind contribution from at least two industry partners for at least 10% of the total project cost

• Collaborative Research Programme - Applications are opened to private company which requires a cash and/or in-kind contribution of no less than 30% of the total project cost at the start of the project and gradually increase to over 50% of the total project cost during the project period. The project will be carried out by a public-funded research institute either identified by the applying company or LSCM R&D Centre

Schedule for R&D Project Application (Call-for-Proposals):

LSCM R&D Centre will solicit project application annually in April & December.
