The missions of LSCM R&D Centre are to:

• Foster the development of core competencies in applied R&D in logistics and supply chain related technologies
• Facilitate adoption of these technologies by industries in Hong Kong and China to enhance their competitiveness

It will develop and promote logistics and supply chain management enabling technologies and should achieve the following purposes:

• Maintain Hong Kong's position as a world-class logistics hub
• Facilitate local industries to meet global retailers' Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) mandate
• Cultivate relevant industries in Hong Kong
• Foster continuous R&D in logistics and supply chain management enabling technologies
